It's going to be a great year!
Welcome to the Purple Pod Kindergarten 2014-15 School-Year!
Parents or Guardians,
We would like to take a moment to welcome you to this new kindergarten school year in the purple pod! It is going to be exciting! On behalf of Mrs. Beale, Ms. Holder, and Mrs. Weekley, I would just like to say that we will work together throughout the year to turn your babies into future 1st graders! We are excited and can't wait to get started! :)
As we begin this school year the students will be taught classroom procedures, various positive reinforcement programs such as the Gotcha tickets or treasure box, etc., locations in the school such as library, lunchroom, gymnasium, music, counselor's office, and the snack shack or office. During the first week or two we do not throw a bunch of academic pressure on the students. It is important to let them get to know their teacher, classmates, pod teachers, areas or locations of importance, classroom procedures and rules as well as consequences of not following the rules. Watch for notes concerning any issues we feel that you need to be aware of in your child's takehome folder on the discipline calendar.
Remember if you should have any questions or concerns you have various ways of contacting your child's teacher. You may call the office and leave a message for a return call, ask to be put through to your child's classroom phone to leave a message and we can call you back, go to the school website and click on staff contact and email directly to your child's teacher, or simply place a note in your child's take home folder which will be sent home to you daily through your child's bookbag. If you need to meet with your child's teacher please request a parent/teacher conference. We look forward to working with our kindergarten babies!
Ms. Chaney
