Objectives: The children will: Read, Fix-It Duck Alphabet review/songs Learn words- I, am Be introduced to skill- setting Practice Literacy Centers Model Writing a sentence Recognize and write names Recognize colors Be introduced to Attendance routines Explore Math Manipulatives Discuss and practice rules Participate in activities about manners, self, and rules Monday Social Science: Discipline Dozen --Colors Yellow and Orange Review of Red and Blue; Color mixing Review Rules and classroom discipline procedures Reading: Read books about the alphabet Other: Complete Pre-Test HFW’s: I, am Skill: Setting Recognize and write names Math: Daily Routines and Procedures Attendance and Calendar Explore Materials (Pattern Blocks, Geo Blocks, Connecting Cubes,etc) Counting and Cardinality 0-5 Tuesday Social Science: Discipline Dozen-- Color Green (mix blue/yellow) Review/discuss classroom/school rules Me/Manners Activities Reading: See Monday Math: Daily Data/Routines See Monday Wednesday Social Science: Discipline Dozen --Color Brown/Tan Use puppets to discuss rules Choices/Consequences Role Playing or Puppets Me/Manners Activities Read Chrysanthemum and send home Name Project Reading: See Monday Math: Daily Data/Routines See Monday Thursday Social Science: Discipline Dozen—Colors Pink/Purple Mix red/white for pink and brown/red for purple Me/Manners Activities Reading: same as Monday Writing: Draw a house using shapes learned Mon-Wed. Save to write a sentence tomorrow Math: Daily Data/Routines See Monday Friday Social Science: Discipline Dozen—Color Black/White Read, It Looks Like Spilt Milk Blob Paint/Children tell what their “Spilt Milk” looks like Me/Manners activities Reading: May do assessing Writing: Write a sentence to go with shape picture from Thursday. Whole group to follow teacher model on Elmo. Math: Daily Data/Routines See Monday Additional Classes/Notes: Library— Music— Counselor—This week Outside Playground—Tuesdays from 1:45-2:15
